I will never forget the shock when I received the bill for my rape exam. This was back in 1995. It's been 13 years. Or was it yesterday? There were fewer things more humiliating. Then, as I recall, our insurance company tried to deny coverage.

It's hard for me to believe that Sarah Palin would not know the policies in her own town. It's a small place. My assumption (based on having lived in a very small town) is that everyone knows everyone else and budgets are not usually secret.

According to the above urls the lone voice of dissent in legislation to stop this madness came from the Chief of Police of Wasilla (who reported to Palin). He was apparently even quoted in the local newspaper as speaking out against the legislation. So we are to belive that Sarah Palin had no idea what her Chief of Police was doing AND that she missed the article in the local newspaper?

It appears that our choices are this...

1) She knowingly tried to make victims pay for their own rape exams.
2) She honestly had no clue what her direct subordinates were doing.

Neither situation looks good for Sarah Palin.
