Knoxville Church Shooting

The outpouring of concern for this church proves on thing. Love is more abundant than evil. I thank God for that. My heart and prayers go out to the TVUUC.

May God continue to wrap his comforting arms around you, your children and friends and may He bring you people and resources so that you may heal. I pray for those killed and for their families that they may be comforted.

Tomlin's Doing Well, Life's Chaotic

Good news! Tomlin is doing very well. He's STILL not 100% but he's almost there. It's been a very hard week. I've fallen behind on just about everything and the stress is beginning to show. To try to keep him safer he's spent the entire week going with me. It's been challenging.

We've found a way to tie him to the car when I've gone in to a fast food restaurant for a quick bite to eat. He seems to love to watch the people going in and out! We've always been sure to sit where I can watch him. He especially loved McKay's Bookstore. We sat on the bench outside while Allie took some books in for me. Nearly everyone who went by commented on what a great dog he is!

It will be good when he can stay at home more. I don't know when I'll be able to trust him to be ok there though. We're looking into crating him again. But I don't know. I worry that he'll become sickened again if he's outside much and I worry if he's not. This is new territory for me. It's uncharted and very stressful.

But, I love him, need him to be able to help and can't think of any other way I'd handle the situation.

He's Better!!!!!

About two hours ago, Tomlin walked up and dropped his stuffed toy in my lap. He wanted to play. It didn't last long. He's not 100% so we only got to throw a few times before he laid back down. But, I'll take the improvement and be glad. :-)

Tomlin still not ok.

He slept through the night. I don't think he even twitched. This morning, we had to wake him up instead of the other way around. He's still lethargic. I'm still worried about him. We'll be talking to the vet later this morning. Keep your fingers crossed!

Pray for my Dog!

I am so upset. Tomlin, our puppy, woke us up at about 6:00 am this morning. He was acting like he wasn't feeling well. He pooped some bloody stools, was whiny and just not his normal playful self. Allie and I hit the vet's doors with Tomlin right after they opened. We're still trying to catch a stool sample but the vet gave us some bad news. She couldn't rule out poisoning by either antifreeze or rat poison. We have neither so he didn't get it here.

Tomorrow, we get the results of a urine sample that will (hopefully) give more light on his illness. It's now 11:00 pm and he's lethargic, not playful, not eating well and not drinking well.

Please pray for him. We got him in hopes that he could become a service dog for Allie. He's done pretty well with his training and is just the sweetest dog you could hope for! I'm heartbroken and worried!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the bottom of my heart,

Gayle

Yelling in the Yard

I had the strangest experience this morning. It's left me spooked all day. About 10am I was about to step into the shower when I heard yelling in my side yard. You'll recall we just moved here only a month ago. I do not recognize voices yet and have no idea who it was. It sounded like a man but I couldn't make out the words. The tone sounded mean, angry even. I'm glad I wasn't home by myself. I asked Sam and her boyfriend to bring in the dogs. It was just so weird! Now, I'm home walking on eggshells. We always bring the dogs inside and we'll definitely do that tonight too. I guess we better leave the outside lights on too - just in case anyone's sneaking around.

I hate feeling scared in my own home! :-(
