Fairbanks to the Alaska Highway at Delta Junction

This post covers how to get from Fairbanks to the Alaska Highway at Delta Junction. I drove this part of our trip in about two hours. There were plenty of places to stop for gas and supplies. The route takes you in front of Eielson Air Force Base. Don't be tempted to pull off and take photos or videos. Stopping for pictures was against the rules when I was through there.

My previous post covered my drive from Denali to North Pole. Since most people will be searching for information on how to get to the Alaska Highway from Fairbanks, I decided to cover this route. However, if you're interested in tourist traps, I'd encourage a stop at North Pole. Otherwise the map link below is what you need to get from Fairbanks to Delta Junction. It's the northern terminus of the Alaska Highway. Here's the link for my earlier post (posting June 5, 2018).

Our next leg of the trip took us to Mile 0 on the Alaska Highway at Dawson Creek, Canada. (posting June 19)
